GW25 Rack-and-Pinion Macro Positioning Rail
$149
Side control for direct camera positioning.
Description
GW25 uses a rack-and-pinion drive to move the camera forward and backward for macro composition and camera-to-subject distance adjustment. The side-mounted knob drives the pinion directly, providing approximately 20.4 mm of travel per full revolution for continuous position adjustment.
A backlash-compensation mechanism reduces lost motion when reversing direction, making forward and backward adjustments more direct. An aluminium rail and carriage are paired with a copper rack and stainless-steel pinion. The maintenance-free mechanism requires no routine lubrication.
Release the travel-lock lever before adjustment. Always engage it after positioning: the carriage can slide if left unlocked.
The integrated Arca-type clamp accepts compatible quick-release plates. An Arca-type base dovetail and 1/4-inch mounting threads provide attachment options for compatible tripod heads and other supports. One 50 mm quick-release plate is included.
For manual focus stacking, move the camera in steps suited to the magnification and depth of field, capture each image separately, then combine the images in post-processing. Travel per revolution is not a specification of minimum step size or positioning accuracy.
